Franciscan Protomartyrs Walk

Born to honour the Franciscan Protomartyrs, the Walk starts at Terni and passes through the hometowns of the Protomartyrs: Stroncone, Aguzzo, Calvi dell’Umbria, Narni and San Gemini. It winds through naturalistic jewels such as the Marmore Waterfalls, Piediluco lake, San Pancrazio park, the park of San Gemini mineral water springs and historic-artistic gems: St. Francis’s at Piediluco, St. Benedict in Fundis monastery, St. Simeone monastery, the convent of St. Francis at Stroncone, the Holy Cave of Narni, the church of St. Archangel Michael at Schifanoia, St. Pudenzianai’s, the Albornoz fortress at Narni, Narni Cathedral, the Augustus bridge at Narni, St. Cassiano Abbey, Madonna del Ponte Sanctuary, St. Francis’s at Sangemini, Carsulae archaeological park, the Hermitage of Cesi, arriving at St. Anthony’s Sanctuary in front of the relics of the Franciscan Protomartyrs.

The route is divided into 6 suggested stages, with intermediate legs so the walk can be organized according to the pilgrim’s choice.
