The Museum of Natural History of Stroncone

A visit to the "Natural History Museum of the Stroncone area", located in the historic centre of this medieval village, is like taking a journey back in time of millions of years, in which you move through different geological periods. The museum shows, with the support of didactic panels, the transformations of geo-environmental conditions and the evolution of life in the area from the Jurassic to the Pleistocene. Topics that kids can learn by joining in educational activities and workshops in specially set up spaces. An interesting documentation is made up of paleontological, geological and zoological finds - including an entomological collection -, the result of several years’ work of the Speleological Group of Stroncone. The latter promotes the discovery of the natural beauties of the area, organizing guided excursions to the "Cimitelle" and the "Prati", two areas of naturalistic value crossed by several easily accessible paths.
