Composition of shapes
It was a work of art that Mastroianni (who passed away in 1998) had created in 1980.
The sculpture is a six-metre high monolith made of low cast carbon steel (a process that produces highly homogeneous steel) in an alloy with nickel, chromium and copper.
It is considered an intersection for the city street network of Corso Tacito, (dating back to the end of the 19th century), with the much older one which, coming from the cathedral, headed towards Porta Spoletina. It is precisely this older street network, in the vicinity of Mastroianni's sculpture, that is recalled by a double travertine curb inserted in the paving of Corso Tacito which runs through it.
